
Stanley Culpepper, Ph.D.
Extension Agronomist – Weed Science, University of Georgia
Stanley grew up on a semiquincentennial family farm (254 years) in northeastern North Carolina. After obtaining his agricultural degrees from N.C. State University, he joined the University of Georgia as a weed scientist focused on developing integrated weed management programs for over 30 different agronomic and vegetable crops. Over the past 27 years, Stanley has shared his work through being an avid publisher with 136 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 463 professional abstracts, 725 extension publications, and 86 Section 18 and State Local Need herbicide labels while also making over 1700 in-person presentations during his career. He has also served three terms on the U.S. EPA Agricultural Science Committee Advisory Board, is a Past President and current Science Policy Chair of the Weed Science Society of America, and was awarded EPA’s Montreal Protocol International Award for contributions to the ozone layer, climate, and human health protection.
