Melissa Moyer
Economic Development Coordination Manager, Greater Des Moines Partnership
Melissa joined the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s economic development team in March 2021. She supports her team and the Partnership’s 11-county region to drive economic growth with one voice, one mission, one region.
Prior to this role, Melissa spent 20+ years working in or supporting Iowa’s bioscience industries. A graduate of the University of Iowa, Melissa spent her undergrad years working in an anatomy lab where she assisted with fetal lung development analysis.
Upon graduation, Melissa took her passion for science to Integrated DNA Technologies where she became a key account project manager for diagnostic-grade researchers.
In 2011, Melissa accepted the role of Associate Director at the Iowa Biotechnology Association (IowaBio). Her 10-year career as IowaBio’s Associate Director established her as a resource and point of contact to the state’s various biotech sectors including Food & Ag, Industrial & Environmental, Human & Animal Health, Medical Devices and Ag Tech.
