Chris Nelson

Accounts Development Lead, SoilView

Chris Nelson grew up in a small town in central Iowa. He attended Waldorf Community College and finished his college career at Northwest Missouri State University. Immediately following graduation Chris took the opportunity Midwest Independent Soil Samplers (MISS) had posted looking for a representative in the state of Iowa to help service and build the region. In 2010 MISS owner Tom McGraw passed the company to a group of like-minded people, including Chris, under the leadership of majority owner Craig Struve. In 2012 this core group rebranded the company as SoilView, and with their vision, it has expanded to become the leading independent soil sampling company in 15 states throughout the Midwest. Today Chris serves as their Accounts Development Lead, helping deliver the value of soil sampling and field services programs directly to agronomists and agronomy centers to support and build their agronomy programs. He and his wife, Jen, reside just outside of Ames, Iowa, and enjoy spending time outdoors with their four kids.
