Mr. Rose is a proven entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in the crop insurance, ag technology, and lending industries. His vision and big-picture understanding of agriculture, technology, lending, financial services, and crop insurance have resulted in successful ventures that benefit America’s farmers and the agricultural industry.
Mr. Rose successfully founded and exited three companies: Ag1, acquired by DTN; Crop1 Insurance, acquired by Farm Bureau Mutual; and Crop Pro Insurance, acquired by AmTrust Financial. He also received Ernst & Young’s Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year award for Iowa and Nebraska.
Mr. Rose is the Co-founder of OptimalAg Solutions Inc., which is committed to closing current financial gaps so all farmers and agribusiness players can fully embrace the next era of agtech adoption and sustainable agriculture. OptAg leverages data science and AI to build grower-relevant risk management solutions that meet ever-changing agricultural demands.
The OptAg crop input intelligence platform uses proprietary seed and crop input yield trial data in sophisticated machine learning models and deep learning algorithms, as well as public and private data sets, to design predictive-yield crop input plans with warranty-backed crop management plans sold through U.S. ag retailers, bankers, agents, and manufacturers. These plans reduce farmers’ risk and help them plant, nurture, and harvest crops more efficiently and effectively.
